If &Then Thursdays is a book meme created by Alex@ Young at Heart Books. The idea is to share a book recommendation each Thursday based on something you might have already read and enjoyed.
I’m a day late but I wanted to post it anyway.
Room by Emma Donoghue
The story is told from the perspective of a five-year-old boy, Jack, who is being held captive in a small room along with his mother.
Ginny Moon by Benjamin Ludwig
This story is told from the perspective of 14-year-old, Ginny, a girl with autism, who is settling into her new “forever family.” (foster parents)
Both stories are told from the perspective of a child dealing with a stressful situation in their lives. You will cry at times, and laugh at others as you read the inner thoughts of these quirky kids. The books are both well-written and will stay with you long after you finish! If you enjoyed Emma Donoghue’s Room, I recommend this debut novel.
What do you think? Have you read either of these? What did you think of them? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
